James R. Penn, MD was serving as chief gastroenterolgy fellow at Rutgers- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School . He earned his medical degree as well as served his internship, residency and fellowship at Rutgers. In 2016 he became board certified in internal medicine.
In 2012 Dr. Penn was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In 2013 Received Intern of the Year Award from the Department of Internal Medicine, 2015 Avedis K. Khachaduirian Award, 2016 the Best Teaching Attending Award in Internal Medicine and Outstanding Fellow Award fro Excellence in Teaching in 2017.
Dr, Penn was appointed Chief Medical Resident for 2015-2016 academic year and was an Academic Teaching Hospitalist at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro from 2015 to 2019.
As an undergraduate at Rutgers University, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with BA in Biological Sciences, winning numerous scholarships in his field of study.
